O TJ (Tribunal de Justiça) do Estado de São Paulo impediu pela segunda vez que a prefeitura de Santa Bárbara d’Oeste libera verba ou funcionários para a realização da Marcha para Jesus.

Os organizadores desse evento da Igreja Renascer estavam pleiteando R$ 25 mil, além do apoio logístico da prefeitura.

A cidade tem 180 mil habitantes e fica a 138 km de São Paulo. O prefeito é Mário Celso Heins (PDT).

Nenhuma instância de governo pode ter gasto ou se envolver com atividades religiosas porque a Constituição determina que o Estado brasileiro é laico.

Além disso, para o TJ, Marcha para Jesus não tem nenhuma ligação “com tradições históricas, culturas ou turísticas da cidade”, porque se trata de um evento “exclusivamente religioso”.
