Daniel Radcliffe assinou contrato oficialmente para protagonizar Kill Your Darlings, informou a diretora de elenco do filme. Laura Rosenthal, profissional do ramo há mais de 24 anos, contou ao Hollywood Reporter que o ator de Harry Potter vai interpretar o poeta da geração Beat Allen Ginsberg, gay assumido, no filme independente.

Na segunda-feira (23), Radcliffe negou que qualquer contrato para fazer o filme tinha sido assinado. "É uma coisa que está em negociação, com certeza. Seria maravilhoso e eu estou muito, muito animado com o roteiro e esse jovem diretor", disse ele se referindo a John Krokidas, que estreia na direção de longa-metragem.

"É um filme independente, é uma boa recepção ao universo dos filmes independentes - daqui pra amanhã pode rolar, ou não. Enquanto não estiver no set, não vou falar nada sobre o assunto", comentou o ator de 22 anos, que se despediu no ano passado da franquia que o consagrou.

Chris Evans (Capitão América), Jesse Eisenberg (A Rede Social) e Ben Whishaw (Brilho de Uma Paixão) também foram cotados para o elenco, enquanto Elizabeth Olsen, irmã caçula das gêmeas Olsen, também foi considerada para um papel.

Ainda não foi revelada uma sinopse oficial, mas o site especializado IMDb informa que a história se passa em 1944, quando um assassinado reúne os grandes poetas da geração beat: Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac e William Burroughs. 

Kill Your Darlings, que tem estreia prevista para 2013, será o segundo trabalho de Radcliffe após o fim da franquia Harry Potter.
