O Estado Islâmico reivindicou responsabilidade nesta segunda-feira (13) pelo ataque a tiros que deixou ao menos 50 mortos em uma boate gay em Orlando, na Flórida, em transmissão na rádio oficial do grupo radical, Albayan. A mensagem qualificou o suspeito de ser autor do ataque, Omar Mateen, como um "soldado do califado".

"O irmão Omar Mateen, um soldado do califado, realizou uma incursão de segurança com a qual conseguiu irromper no clube noturno de homossexuais de Orlando, onde matou e feriu mais de cem antes de ser assassinado", disse o EI através de sua emissora de rádio "Al Bayan".

O EI insistiu que "Deus permitiu [a Mateen] atacar os imundos cruzados (...)" e destacou que este atentado é "o maior registrado nos EUA pelo número de mortos".

Na madrugada do domingo (12) Omar Saddiqui Mateen, 29, abriu fogo contra o público da boate Pulse, em Orlando, no pior ataque a tiros da história dos EUA e que foi qualificado pelo presidente Barack Obama de "ato de terrorismo e ódio".

Segundo a imprensa americana, Mateen expressou sua lealdade ao EI em um telefonema para o número de emergência 911 pouco antes do ataque.

Oficialmente, as autoridades americanas ainda investigam a motivação do ataque e não confirmaram uma ligação direta do atirador com o grupo terrorista.

Em entrevista à imprensa, um porta-voz do FBI confirmou que a agência norte-americana acompanhava o atirador por suspeitas de laços com grupos extremistas.

The Islamic State claimed responsibility on Monday (13) by the shooting attack that left at least 50 dead in a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida, broadcast on the official radio of the radical group, Albayan. The message described the suspected author of the attack, Omar Mateen as a "soldier of the caliphate."

"Brother Omar Mateen, a soldier of the caliphate, held a security raid with which managed to break into the nightclub gay Orlando, where killed and wounded over a hundred before he was killed," said EI through its broadcaster radio "Al Bayan".

The EI insisted that "God allowed [to Mateen] attack the Crusaders filthy (...)" and stressed that this attack is "the largest recorded in the US by the number of dead."

In the early hours of Sunday (12) Omar Saddiqui Mateen, 29, opened fire on the audience of Pulse nightclub in Orlando, in the worst attack on US history shots and that was qualified by President Barack Obama "act of terrorism and hatred" .

According to the American press, Mateen expressed his loyalty to EI in a phone call to the emergency number 911 just before the attack.

Officially, the US authorities were still investigating the motive of the attack and did not confirm a direct link shooter with the terrorist group.

Speaking to reporters, an FBI spokesman confirmed that the US agency accompanied the shooter on suspicion of ties to extremist groups.
