A cantora Sandy, uma das brasileiras escolhidas a dedo para representar a beleza feminina na série do mesmo nome ("As brasileiras"), será Gabriela, "A reacionária do Pantanal". Gabriela é tudo o que a cantora parece ser, sem ser: uma menina careta e alienada politicamente. Sandy já protagonizou um debate sobre sexo anal, por causa de uma entrevista à revista "Playboy", é defensora da união entre pessoas do mesmo sexo e, na política... Bem, na política, surpreende, ao dizer, com outras palavras, que a presidente Dilma não é lá toda essa maravilha que hoje encanta até Fernando Henrique, nome citado pela cantora como responsável pelo pouco de bom que ainda acontece no governo.

Por tudo isso, Sandy, na vida real, exerce o papel de "A esclarecida de Campinas", cidade em que nasceu e mora até hoje.

E entrevista para O GLOBO, um dos principais tópicos que a cantora comentou foi sobre homossexualidade:

"Vejo como uma coisa natural. Sou a favor do casamento gay. Acho que todo mundo tem os mesmos direitos e tem que ser feliz. O problema maior hoje é homofobia, crime hediondo, cruel. A gente, às vezes, fica focada nos grandes centros, e esquece que no interior do país, nos redutos atrasados, a homofobia está presente de forma muito mais selvagem, diante da ausência do Estado."
