Parada LGBT está marcada para 20 de maio em Maringá, no norte do Paraná.

O que começou como uma polêmica entre ativistas LGBTs e católicos terminou com a possibilidade de criação da Pastoral da Diversidade pela igreja paranaense. O assunto foi levantado durante reunião ocorrida na manhã desta terça-feira (17) entre o representante do movimento LGBT e o arcebispo da cidade de Maringá (426 km de Curitiba).

O encontro foi agendado depois da polêmica envolvendo o trabalho da artista plástica Elisa Riemer, que produziu um cartaz virtual para divulgar a Parada do Orgulho LGBT de Maringá, marcada para 20 de maio.

A imagem da luz usando a catedral da cidade como prisma e explodindo em cores do arco-íris irritou católicos da cidade e o arcebispo dom Anuar Battisti, que, ontem, no seu blog, lamentava “o uso dado ao cartaz, que confronta com o pensamento e a opinião religiosa da parcela maior da comunidade maringaense”.

Nesta terça, em conversa com o representante do movimento LGBT da cidade e responsável pelo Maringay, Luiz Modesto, o tom foi de aproximação. “Estamos abertos à discussão e dispostos a falar dos problemas enfrentados por eles”, disse dom Anuar.

Em entrevista, Modesto também disse que a reunião foi amigável e que o arcebispo entendeu que o cartaz foi para ampliar o diálogo sobre a homofobia. Levantamentos feitos pelo movimento LGBT de Maringá registram 38 agressões contra lésbicas, gays, bissexuais, travestis e transexuai nos últimos 12 meses.

Igreja é contra a violência
“Dom Anuar nos disse que a preocupação maior deve ser contra a violência e não contra o movimento. Ele ficou comovido e nos deu um indicativo para a criação da Pastoral da Diversidade em Maringá”, afirmou Modesto.

Caso a pastoral seja criada, ela será a primeira iniciativa oficial da igreja para trabalhar diretamente no combate a homofobia. “Para as pessoas que entenderam o cartaz como provocação, eu peço desculpas sinceras. O objetivo maior era criar um diálogo sobre o assunto. E conseguimos”, disse Modesto.
