Cientistas israelenses anunciaram que conseguiram destruir em laboratório células infectadas pelo vírus da Aids sem afetar as células saudáveis, informa o jornal "Haaretz".

Os cientistas, da Universidade Hebraica de Jerusalém, destacaram que criaram um tratamento à base de peptídios (polímeros de aminoácidos) que provocam a autodestruição das células infectadas pelo vírus HIV.

Até o momento, as terapias de combate à Aids tentam matar o vírus presente nas células, com o risco de um retorno da infecção se o tratamento for interrompido ou se o vírus se tornar imune.
