O Rio de Janeiro foi eleito o melhor destino de praia gay da América Latina, no 9a Conferência Internacional de Negócios e Turismo LGBT. O Gnetwork360, foi realizado no começo do mês pela Câmara de Comércio Gay-Lésbica da Argentina, em Buenos Aires.

Para a votação a conferência fez uma votação com 200 representantes LGBTs, (Lésbicas-Gays-Bissexuais-Travestis e Transexuais). Com 51% dos votos, o Rio de Janeiro foi eleito o melhor destino ao público gay, seguido de Puerto Vallarta e Cancún, ambos no México.


Na categoria "Melhor Destino LGBT da América Latina", Argentina, levou o título com Bueno Aires, que recebeu 63% dos votos. Em seguida Rio de Janeiro e São Paulo.


O representante da Câmara de Comércio Gay-Lésbica da Argentina, Pablo de Luca, contou em entrevia ao site Cnn News, que na Argentina os LGBTs estão em toda a parte, e não localizados em um bairro. "Em Buenos Aires não se fala mais em tolerância, porque isso implica a situação de alguém superior ao outro. Aqui falamos de pessoas que são iguais, somos uma sociedade muito respeitosa" disse. "Na Argentina a comunidade LGBT está em todo lado, não há um 'bairro rosa' que nos represente". completou.

São Paulo fico com a vice liderança na categoria, "Melhor Destino Urbano LGBT", perdendo para a sede do evento, Bueno Aires, que recebeu 61% dos votos.
