RIO — Um homem de 62 anos foi preso sob acusação de ter enchido um pote de lubrificante com ácido clorídrico no clube Aarows, voltado para o público gay e bissexual em Sidney, na Austrália. Não há registro de feridos, já que os potes possuíam alarmes contra adulteração, por causa de casos semelhantes no passado.

O homem, que não teve a identidade revelada, foi acusado de crimes que incluem a administração de substância tóxica com a intenção de ferir ou causar dor, informou a BBC.

Um porta-voz da polícia disse ao jornal australiano “Daily Telegraph” que os investigadores não estabeleceram uma motivação, mas não existem indícios de crime de ódio até o momento. O suspeito foi liberado sob fiança, mas deve comparecer perante à Justiça no próximo dia 20.

O Aarows se apresenta ao público como o “primeiro centro social, recreativo e saudável, onde o sexo seguro é permitido, independentemente do gênero”. À emissora Australian Broadcasting, um frequentador classificou o ato como “doentio”.

— Ácido clorídrico não é o melhor tipo de coisa para se brincar — afirmou o frequentador, que preferiu não se identificar.

The man, who did not have the identity revealed, was accused of crimes including the toxic substance management with the intention to injure or cause pain, the BBC reported.

A police spokesman told the Australian newspaper "Daily Telegraph" that investigators have not established a motive, but there are no hate crime evidence to date. The suspect was released on bail but must appear before the Court on June 20.

The Aarows is presented to the public as the "first social center, recreational and healthy, where safe sex is allowed, regardless of gender." At broadcaster Australian Broadcasting a frequenter classified the act as "sick".
