OAB trabalha na criação do Estatuto da Diversidade Sexual ( Noticia ) - OAB is working to create the Statute of Sexual Diversity ( News )

A Comissão da Diversidade Sexual do Conselho Federal da Ordem dos Advogados do Brasil (OAB) está trabalhando na elaboração do Estatuto da Diversidade Sexual, a fim de garantir os direitos à população LGBT (Lésbicas, Gays, Bissexuais, travestis e Transexuais). O objetivo é construir um microssistema que, além de assegurar direitos, também sirva para dar-lhes efetividade com foco em direitos fundamentais como à livre orientação sexual, direito à igualdade e à não discriminação, à constituição de família e direito ao próprio corpo, entre outros. Depois de concluído pela Comissão, presidida pela advogada Maria Berenice Dias, o Estatuto deverá ser submetido a discussão e aprovação pelo Pleno do Conselho Federal da OAB.

The Committee on Sexual Diversity Council of the Federal Bar Association of Brazil (OAB) is drafting the Statute of Sexual Diversity, to ensure the rights of LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender). The goal is to build a microsystem that, in addition to ensuring rights, also serves to give them effectiveness with a focus on fundamental rights such as freedom of sexual orientation, right to equality and nondiscrimination, and a family right to their own body, between others. Once completed by the Commission, chaired by lawyer Maria Berenice Dias, the statute should be subjected to discussion and approval by the Plenum of the Federal Council of OAB.
