Evento acontecerá de 29 de junho a 8 de julho nas salas da Estação Sesc Rio, Cine Cultural Justiça Federal e Instituto Cervantes.
O Rio de Janeiro foi o local escolhido para abrigar o "Rio Festival Gay de Cinema 2012" que acontecerá entre os dias 29 de junho a 8 de julho, com exibições nas salas da Estação Sesc Rio, Cine Cultural Justiça Federal e Instituto Cervantes.

Foram selecionados 12 longas e 43 curtas-metragens brasileiros e estrangeiros. Este ano a seleção de filmes está mais brasileira do que nunca, 50% dos curtas são brasileiros. Tem filmes para todos os gostos. A comédia romântica E-Cupid, em que Marshall, frustrado no amor, baixa um aplicativo misterioso que lhe dá tudo o que ele quer. A realidade de uma linda família americana gay em The Right To Love e a de famílias brasileiras no documentário Família no Papel. E pela primeira vez mulheres queer indonésias estão quebrando o código do silêncio em Anak-Anak Srikani.

O festival também irá exibir dois longas do Prêmio Maguey do Festival de Cinema de Guadalarara: Todo El Mundo Tiene a Alguien Menos Yo e Mía. E a estreia do curta indiano Amen, que abre a sessão do filme Looking for Gay Bollywood.
