No ano passado o Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF) decidiu, por unanimidade, reconhecer a união estável para casais do mesmo sexo. Desde então, vários casamentos têm sido realizados por todo o país. E em Uberaba será registrada, este ano, a primeira união de duas mulheres no Estado, e em um casamento comunitário, junto com outros 81 casais beneficiados com o projeto.

Os livros do cartório de registro civil de Uberaba nunca oficializaram um casamento entre mulheres. Mas a documentação já foi analisada. “É um casamento normal, onde as duas pessoas vão fazer o mesmo processo que faz outro casamento qualquer: regime de bens, nomes adotados, tudo normal como qualquer outro processo”, explicou a escrevente Maria de Fátima Macedo.

Os proclames também já foram publicados no Diário Oficial de Uberaba. “Nós tivemos a orientação que era para ser feito o encaminhamento da documentação e apresentação ao juiz num processo regular para obter a homologação ou não. À Secretaria compete cumprir aquilo que foi definido pelos tribunais. Nosso papel não é discriminar ninguém, mas concretizar aquilo que é de direito”, comentou a secretária de Desenvolvimento Social, Eide Suzana de Faria. Ainda de acordo com ela, o procedimento para a participação das duas foi o mesmo para os casais heterossexuais.

O casal não quis dar entrevista, mas a cerimônia será realizada no próximo dia 14 de junho, no Cine Teatro Municipal Vera Cruz. Esta será a oitava edição do casamento comunitário de Uberaba. No ano passado 89 casais foram beneficiados com o projeto.

Also according to her, the procedure for participation of both was the same for heterosexual couples.

The couple declined to be interviewed, but the ceremony will be held on June 14 at the Cine Teatro Municipal Vera Cruz. This will be the eighth edition of the Community Marriage of Uberaba. Last year 89 couples were benefited by the project.
