2011: Ano em que o Governo Federal ajoelhou-se aos fundamentalistas ( Noticia ) - 2011: Year in which the Federal Government knelt fundamentalists (News)

2011 se encerra e a comunidade gay, no que diz respeito a ganhos políticos, têm pouco a comemorar. Este ano pode ficar marcado por aquele em que o fundamentalismo religioso pautou o Congresso Nacional e a Presidência da República, representada Dilma Rousseff.

Logo que tomou posse, a presidente anunciou os novos ministros. O nome aguardado com mais ansiedade era para a Secretaria Especial de Direitos Humanos, que no governo Lula havia sido comandada por Paulo Vanucchi. A pasta seria assumida pela deputada federal eleita Maria do Rosário (PT-RS), que como parlamentar já tinha um trabalho ligado com juventude e LGBT.

Mas, no mês de maio, a comunidade gay se depararia com o maior revés na história da política recente. Quando o governo federal, ao tentar salvar o ministro da Casa Civil, Antonio Palocci, que era alvo de várias denuncias, derrubou o Kit Escola Sem Homofobia, frente à uma chantagem liderada por Anthony Garotinho (PRB-RJ) e Jair Bolsonaro (PP-RJ), de que caso não vetasse o material, iriam convocar Palocci a depor. O material caiu e o ministro também.

Em pronunciamento, a presidente Dilma Rousseff, que assumiu não ter assistido aos vídeos, apenas um deles, declarou que em seu governo não seria permitida a "propaganda de nenhuma opção sexual (sic)", mas que seu governo é a favor da "luta contra a homofobia". A presidente disse também que o material seria revisto e modificado. Porém, até o momento nada aconteceu.

Se no Congresso e no Executivo amargaríamos derrota, seria a vez do Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF) conceder, uma decisão história e unânime, a principal vitória, se não a única, à comunidade gay ao estender as uniões civis estáveis para casais do mesmo sexo. O relator do projeto, ministro Carlos Ayres Britto, em uma defesa magistral, reiterou que as leis do país devem seguir a Constituição e não serem pautadas pela religião.

No congresso, a bancada fundamentalista avançou no combate a tudo que diz respeito aos direitos gays, tal influência se espalhou para todo o Brasil. O exemplo mais torpe foi quando a Câmara Municipal de São Paulo aprovou o Dia do Orgulho Heterossexual, de autoria do vereador fundamentalista Carlos Apolinário (DEM-SP), que foi vetado pelo prefeito Gilberto Kassab. Porém, Câmaras do Brasil inteiro apresentaram projetos semelhantes e até mesmo o Congresso Nacional conta com um projeto do mesmo tipo a espera de ser votado.

Outro tema que também permeou o cenário nacional, mais uma vez, foi o PLC 122/2006, que visa tornar crime a homofobia em todo o território nacional. No começo do ano legislativo, a senadora Marta Suplicy (PT-SP) conseguiu assinaturas para desarquivar o projeto e assumir a sua relatoria.

Daí pra frente toda uma polêmica: primeiro o gabinete da Casa Civil pediu para que a senadora sentasse com a bancada evangélica e negociasse o novo texto. Mesmo assim, e com parte do movimento social contrário ao substitutivo, a senadora não conseguiu apoio e teve que retirar o projeto de votação duas vezes.
