A abertura do encontro contou com a presença do presidente do Conselho Nacional de Juventude, Gabriel Medina, e do assessor da Secretaria Nacional de Juventude, Eduardo Santarelo. Cerca de 80 jovens representando 23 estados da Federação participam do encontro, que é organizado pela Associação de Populações Vulneráveis, com apoio do Departamento Nacional de DST/Aids, Programa Estadual de DST/Aids de São Paulo, ABGLT – Associação Brasileira de Lésbicas, Gays, Bissexuais, Travestis e Transexuais e RNAJVHA – Rede Nacional de Adolescentes e Jovens Vivendo com HIV/Aids.

No debate, o tema da campanha de prevenção de 1º de dezembro, a implementação do Plano de Enfrentamento da Epidemia de HIV/Aids entre Gays, outros HSH e Travestis e equipamentos de promoção da testagem rápida em HIV/Aids. O projeto “Quero Fazer”, um piloto da oferta do teste gratuito do HIV, em funcionamento em três cidades do país – Recife, Rio de Janeiro e Brasília – foi apresentado e debatido. Toni Reis defendeu a criação desses equipamentos. “A testagem tem que ser oferecida no cotidiano das pessoas”. A iniciativa se mostra necessária quando se leva em consideração o percentual de casos de diagnóstico tardio de HIV que, segundo Eduardo Barbosa, gira em torno de 48%.

“A Aids não tem preconceito”. Esse é o mote da campanha de 1º de dezembro, Dia Mundial de Luta contra a Aids, realizada pelo Departamento Nacional de DST/Aids e Hepatites Virais do Ministério da Saúde. A campanha será lançada durante a Conferência Nacional de Saúde, que acontece de 30 de novembro a 4 de dezembro de 2011, em Brasília. O assunto foi discutido hoje, na primeira mesa de debates do II Encontro Nacional de Jovens Gays, outros HSH e Travestis, em São José do Rio Preto, São Paulo. Participaram do debate o diretor adjunto do Departamento Nacional de DST/Aids e Hepatites Virais, Eduardo Barbosa; Toni Reis, presidente da ABGLT; Jean Dantas, pelo Programa Estadual de DST/Aids de São Paulo, e Kleber Mendes, da Rede Nacional de Adolescentes e Jovens Vivendo com HIV/Aids.

"Eu só queria te dizer o quanto eu estou orgulhosa de você por ser um forte defensor da comunidade LGBT na sua escola. Deveriam haver mais monstrinhos como você. Meu pai sempre fala das cartas que eu recebo dos meus fãs e eu li a sua recentemente, e eu quis enviar esse vídeo para você não só em nome da minha equipe 'Haus of Gaga', mas em nome de todos os monstrinhos em todo o mundo", disse a cantora no vídeo.

Na mensagem, Lady Gaga também fala da importância de que todos os alunos tenham os mesmos direitos.

"É importante que nós expandamos as fronteiras do amor e da aceitação, que sejamos tolerantes e igualitários com todos os alunos."

Pierre ficou chocado com o vídeo.
