Autor da ADPF 132/RJ, que reconheceu as uniões homoafetivas no Brasil, julgada em 5 de maio deste ano pelo Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF), o governador fluminense Sérgio Cabral vai ser o grande homenageado da 16ª edição da Parada do Orgulho LGBT do Rio de Janeiro. A manifestação será realizada no dia 9 de outubro, a partir das 13h, na orla de Copacabana, Zona Sul carioca.
Marta Suplicy também receberá homenagem por sua histórica contribuição às conquistas do movimento LGBT e por ser a primeira congressista a propor um projeto de lei que reconhecesse a união estável homoafetiva no Brasil.
O tema neste ano será “Somos todos iguais perante a paz – Toda forma de violência deve ser crime”, que alude ao Artigo 5º da Constituição Federal, onde está determinado que somos todos iguais perante a lei.
O Grupo Arco-Íris, que realiza o evento, pede para que o público – 1 milhão de pessoas são esperadas – vá vestido de branco. Ao todo, 15 trios elétricos, do poder público, entidades e clubes da cidade, desfilarão na parada.
“Somente através de um pensamento pacifista é que a gente consegue acabar com todas as desigualdades que existem hoje na sociedade, como a violência, a pobreza e a exclusão. É necessário ter uma compreensão que o combate à homofobia está inserido nesta pauta. Com esse evento a gente traz essa discussão pra sociedade: somos todos iguais perante a paz e toda forma de preconceito deve ser crime”, opina Julio Moreira ao Gay1, presidente do Grupo Arco-Íris.
Serão distribuídos meio milhão de preservativos, além de sachês de gel e camisinha feminina. No local, haverá tendas com materiais informativos sobre cidadania, incentivo a testagem voluntária do status sorológico do HIV, além de dicas sobre prevenção contra doenças sexualmente transmissíveis.

Will be distributed half a million condoms, and sachets of gel and female condom. On site, there will be stalls with information materials on citizenship, encourage voluntary testing of HIV serostatus, as well as tips on preventing sexually transmitted diseases.
