Mais polêmica em torno da renúncia do Papa Bento XVI. O jornal italiano "La Repubblica" divulgou uma matéria nessa segunda (25) onde diz que o Papa resolveu abdicar de seu cargo por conta desvios de dinheiros e da força do "lobby gay" dentro do Vaticano.
De acordo com a publicação, Bento XVI teria recebido um relatório "demolidor" com mais de 300 páginas elaborado por três experientes cardeais da alta cúpula da Igreja Católica.
"Existe uma rede transversal unida pela orientação sexual. Pela primeira vez, a palavra 'homossexualidade foi pronunciada e lida em voz alta a partir de um texto no apartamento de Ratzinger. E pela primeira vez foi falado, embora em Latim, sobre a palavra 'chantagem ('Influentiam)", diz o texto do jornal.
Após ler o relatório, que trazia inúmeros casos de corrupção da Igreja, Bento XVI resolveu demitir-se e teria dito que "este relatório deve ser entregue ao próximo Papa, que deverá ser bastante forte, jovem e santo para poder enfrentar o trabalho que o espera".
Na mesma reportagem o "La Repubblica" relembra um escândalo de 2010, quando foi descoberto que um membro do coro da Capela Musical da Basílica de São Pedro, o nigeriano Chinedu Eheim, oferecia serviços sexuais com menores, incluindo seminaristas. Os encontros aconteciam numa vila fora de Roma, numa sauna, num centro estético e no próprio Vaticano.
A história tinha como protagonista Angelo Balducci, o presidente do Conselho Nacional Italiano de Obras Públicas, que teve seu telefone interceptado por suspeita de corrupção. Eheim teria dito em uma gravação para Balducci: "Só te falo que tem dois metros de altura, pesa 97 quilos, tem 33 anos e é completamente ativo".
