que deseja ajudar a criar “bairros gays” (também chamados de gayborhoods) em
sua plataforma, espaços em que pessoas podem interagir com segurança.
Parte das comemorações de 15 anos do aplicativo, a novidade
foi apresentada no Web Summit Rio 2024, maior evento de tecnologia e inovação
do mundo. Ela vai envolver algumas mudanças no aplicativo, começando pelo
recurso batizado de Roam. O Roam do Grindr permite ao usuário exibir seu perfil em outros países antes
mesmo de viajar. Já em testes e prevista para ser lançada globalmente no
terceiro trimestre, a funcionalidade é parecida com o que existe em aplicativos
como Tinder e Bumble. Segundo o presidente-executivo do Grindr, George Arison, o
recurso vem para aprimorar laços entre a comunidade e fazer com que o app
também seja usado para outros tipos de conexões: “busca de recomendações,
informações, recursos e um senso de conexão”.
“Em breve, vamos anunciar a nossa nova declaração de missão
já com o propósito dos bairros gays e teremos outras novidades exclusivas para
eles”, conta George Arison em entrevista ao Globo.
